3 Important facts about Dreams

What stops people from embracing and following their dreams?

There are a lot of possible excuses that we could use for not following our dreams.

  • I don’t have any dream to follow
  • My dream is not that important after all
  • I do have a dream, but will only reach it if it’s Gods will
  • It is already too late for me

The truth is that we all have at least one dream that we will love to reach, but we are afraid to fail. Most of us since we were little kids we start dreaming about what we would like to do when we grow up, it could be a police officer, a fireman, a teacher, Doctor, secretary, singer, you name it.

I remember that during my childhood I must have dreamed and change careers at least 6 or 7 times. As an adult, I still have a lot of dreams that I want to make a reality in my life.

In my humble opinion, there are 3 important facts about dreams.

1) We all have a Dream: I think that none of us can go an entire life without fighting for at least one of our dreams. That dream could be about school or college, it could be at the career level, in your family or in your spiritual life. May be you want to help some charity or help kids in your neigborhood to have a better education.

Dreams give us a reason to live, a reason to fight on, every dream has a risk element, and only those willing to take those risks will reach those dreams.

2) Your dream is unique and important: God made every human being unique, so that we so that we could make possible an important part of his dream for the world.  How? The purpose of your dream is to satisfy a need on the world that only you could do it. Nobody else in this world could fulfill that assignment like you could do it.

3) Your dream was put in your heart so you could reach it: God wants you to value your dream as a present and he wants you to live it. But he won’t force you to choose, it is your decision to make it a reality; you need to take the first step.

Proverbs 13:12: When hope is crushed, the heart is crushed, but a wish come true fills you with joy.
